Search Help
To facilitate your search, the following search help* is
provided. Please note that the search engine is case-insensitive, and
it supports boolean full-text search capabilities with the following operators:
+ |
A leading plus sign indicates that this word must
be present in every record retrieved. |
- |
A leading minus sign indicates that this word must
not be present in any record retrieved. |
() |
Parentheses are used to group words into subexpressions. |
* |
An asterisk is the truncation operator. Unlike the
other operators, it append, not prepend, to the word. |
" |
The phrase, that is enclosed in double quotes ",
matches only records that contain this phrase literally, as
it was typed. |
| Here are some examples: |
horse tail |
... find records that contain at least one
of these words. |
+horse +tail |
... find records that contain both words. |
+horse -tail |
... find records that contains word "horse" but not
"tail". |
horse* |
... find records that contain "horse", "horses", and
"horseman". |
"some words" |
... find "some words of wisdom", but not "some noise
words". |
SIMPLIcity Image Search
SIMPLIcity, developed by Prof. J. Wang of PSU enables
one to find similar images in color and shape in a given database
by clicking "Similar." Thus this content-based image
retrieval technique is not evenly effective for retrieving all
types of images.
